When the Elhabr family noticed fuel oil fumes, they learned that the oil furnace had developed a leak and needed to be replaced. Even before this, Elie Elhabr was concerned about the rapid increase in the price of fuel oil that raised his energy bills. He decided to remove the fuel oil furnace and install new electric equipment in his rural New Jersey home in January 2024. By installing a heat pump system, the family improved their home’s comfort, eliminated their reliance on fossil fuels, and increased safety. They are already saving more than $2,300 on their energy bills.
