Help Stop the PennEast Pipeline By Calling Your Senators

Pipelines are being approved across the United States, too easily and too often. The South Jersey Gas pipeline was recently approved right here in New Jersey.

The PennEast pipeline, however, has not yet been approved, and it is not too late to stop it in its tracks. We need to let our New Jersey senators, Cory Booker and Bob Menendez, know that the citizens of New Jersey do not want the PennEast pipeline by calling them and saying so.

It is a quick and easy process to let your Senators know that you oppose the PennEast pipeline:

  1.  Call Senator Cory Booker at (202) 224-3224 or Senator Robert Menendez at (202) 224-4744
  2. Give your name to the person who answers the phone and say that you’re a constituent.
  3. Feel free to use this sample script: “My name is _______________ and I’m a constituent. I’m calling today to urge the senator to oppose the proposed PennEast gas pipeline. It threatens thousands of acres of taxpayer-supported preserved open space and farmland, some of the cleanest streams in the state, and the drinking water for over 1.5 million New Jerseyeans. I hope the senator considers speaking out publicly against the pipeline and urges the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to reject it.”
  4. Lastly, let us know that you called so that we can keep track of the outreach!
