New Jersey Rate Counsel Reiterates Lack of Need, Excessive Profits for PennEast Pipeline

  • The agency reiterated its assertions that the proposed gas pipeline is not needed and does not benefit the public.
  • Their comments in September were that the agency “is concerned that the DEIS does not address that the ‘need’ for the Project appears to be driven more by the search for higher returns on investment than any actual deficiency in gas supply or pipeline capacity to transport it.”
