“The New Jersey Board of Public Utility’s new solar incentive policy takes important steps to continue the growth of clean, solar energy while reducing costs to ratepayers. It also reiterates the state’s ‘unalterable commitment’ to meeting clean energy goals, including the 50% renewable portfolio standard by 2030.
Going forward the board should ensure that ratepayer costs for New Jersey solar remain within a reasonable budget so that aggressive climate goals can be met.
Sound solar siting will be essential to avoid conflicts with our farmland preservation and natural resource protection goals.” —Tom Gilbert, campaign director, New Jersey Conservation Foundation and ReThink Energy NJ
