STOP the Pinelands pipeline

Send a letter (below) to tell the NJ BPU and the Pinelands Commission to reject NJNG’s Southern Reliability Link (SRL), an unneeded pipeline proposed to cut through the Pinelands. Independent energy experts have found that this pipeline has no business threatening the ecological and drinking water resources in the Pinelands. Given this new evidence, NJBPU must re-open the company’s application and reject this fossil fuel project!

Dear Commissioner Martin,

I am writing to urge the NJDEP to reject PennEast’s incomplete application. I am one of thousands of concerned citizens who oppose this 120-mile pipeline, along with members of Congress, state and local elected officials, every municipality along the proposed route, federal and state agencies, and the NJ Rate Counsel.

NJDEP has rightly stated that it will not consider PennEast’s permit application until the company has completed surveys and submitted all outstanding data. PennEast has failed to do so, and NJDEP must uphold this commitment and obligation under the law.

Please hold PennEast accountable and reject this application.  NJDEP should not accept an application for review unless and until PennEast has legal authority to apply and submits the required information to properly evaluate the environmental impacts of the project, including:
-completed surveys for all properties along the proposed route
-required alternatives analyses to avoid impacting critical resources
-data concerning threatened and endangered animals and plants
-geo-technical and stream-crossing analyses
-addressing concerns raised about arsenic contamination of drinking water

Energy experts and the NJ Rate Counsel say there is no public need for PennEast. It would needlessly threaten our land, water and communities.
