Gov. Murphy and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) unveiled the final Energy Master Plan (EMP) ― outlining New Jersey’s vision for 100% clean energy by 2050.
At the same time, the governor signed an executive order calling for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to issue regulations to protect against climate threats, reduce CO2 and short-lived climate pollutants and amend land-use regulations to incorporate climate considerations.
The plan represents a bold vision for a clean energy future, positions the state as a leader in the transition away from fracked gas and other fossil fuels, and ensures a healthier and cleaner state for our residents.
This is a critical step forward for New Jersey’s environment and economy and, with the right policies in place, New Jersey’s clean energy future will be bright!
